Congratulations to Bachelor of Business student Sam Brown, who has been selected to compete in the Australian team at the 7th World University Squash Championships to be held at Monash University in Melbourne from 9 to 18 July.

Seventeen countries are competing in the Championships with Sam being one of only five team members chosen to compete in the Australian team.

Led by coach and squash legend, Sarah Fitz-Gerald, the team will compete against international competitors, including Germany, Ireland, United States and Great Britain at the round robin tournament, which starts on 9 July.

Sam is thrilled to be representing Australia at the international competition.

“I was given the chance to play for Australia when I was 16, but was unable to go due to a shoulder injury.

“Given the opportunity to once again play for my country is a dream come true, and I look forward to putting on the green and gold with my team in Melbourne.”

Joining Sam on the Australian team is Melody Francis, from Deakin University, Zoe Petrovansky from Queensland University, Luke Sims from Victoria University and Selena Sheikh from Monash University.
