Student stories

  • My degree allows me to be versatile and adapt in an ever-evolving workplace.

I'm the goalkeeping coach for Perth Glory and the state team. I've had opportunities to travel to international tournaments in Spain, England and China. My degree gave me the versatility to work across sports departments. While I work as a coach, my sports science background means I can work more closely with sports scientists, strength and conditioning and analytical staff.

    Dylan Cope
  • The Arts Management degree gave me the skills and contacts to form a fantastic career in the arts industry

In my role as Head of Media and Client Relations at AKA, my team and I formulate strategy and execute end-to-end marketing campaigns for commercial theatre, not-for-profit theatre companies, galleries and museums, major events and a diverse range of other arts and entertainment forms.

WAAPA set me up to be confident in the industry, no matter what I have ended up working on.

    James Robertson
  • WAAPA's Arts Management course really helped me find my place in the arts industry

I have always craved an active role within the performing arts, but had no idea in what capacity this could be, I trusted the course to guide me in the right direction, and it did.

It was so beneficial to have the WAAPA name behind me when seeking volunteering opportunities for development, enabling me to expand my networks and connections in the local industry. Ultimately, this led to my current position of Associate Producer at the Blue Room Theatre.

WAAPA Arts Management graduate, Harriet Roberts
