We go out of our way to help our students start on their journey, including offering different entry options to our undergraduate courses. And we provide an interesting mix of courses across eight different study areas.
We hope you can join us!

What can you study here?
To help our domestic and international students with a career direction, we group similar fields of work into study areas.
Within each study area, you can choose an undergraduate (first) degree. And within most degree courses, you can choose your specialty, or major subject.
Our study areas
At ECU, we group similar fields of work into study areas. As a domestic or international student, you can select a study area that aligns with your field of interest, or choose from our postgraduate study options to see what courses are available.
World Ready experience
Don't just take our word for it! Here's what some of our students have to say about why they chose to study at ECU.
"I wanted the opportunity to work anywhere in Australia as well as overseas"
When I applied for Paramedical Science at ECU, it was the only university in WA offering the nationally-accredited course and I've stayed because of the industry partnerships with St John Ambulance Northern Territory and Falck.
I really enjoy working with the lecturers; they all have practical experience out on road and within the industry so they can continually educate us, while providing a lot of guidance and support.
"My 4 years at ECU were without a doubt some of the best of my life!"
Being a mature age student, I assumed that I wouldn't make many friends as that was just for the school leavers, but I have made friends for life with people of all ages and nationalities. These friendships made for the most positive experience. The lecturers and tutors were consistently supportive and it was clear they really wanted their students to succeed.
I loved how ECU offered practical, work-ready learning methods, combined with the latest theory. I didn't realise how interactive the course would be, there were so many real life scenarios which made me feel much more comfortable about going out into the workforce.
My greatest achievement was graduating with the School of Business and Law medal for 2018. It was an incredible honour that I got to share with my family, ECU friends and all my lecturers and tutors who encouraged me to aim as high as I could.
"If you want a well‑rounded and practical experience, definitely study Engineering at ECU"
My advice to students would be to study to get a job, not to get a degree. Maximise your opportunities to get experience that will get you a career. So for me, that was participating in Engineering societies, going overseas, joining the Vice‑Chancellor's forum and so forth. All of these gave me interpersonal skills and international experience.
I was also named the WA Young Professional Engineer of the Year 2018 at the Engineers Australia WA Engineering Excellence Awards.
If you want a well‑rounded and practical experience, definitely study Engineering at ECU.
