I worked with the WA police to create software that will have real community benefits

I was really impressed with the number of computing labs and the 24/7 accessibility at ECU. I didn't expect to be able to work for real clients during my time at uni, so was surprised when I was given the opportunity to develop software for the WA Police Air Wing.

We developed a mobile phone app that could assist police in search and rescue missions. We were able to work with them on the design and then able to test the app in the field using the Police helicopter. The experience and recognition has been invaluable.

Being a mature, international student, I've felt welcome from day one

My study experience thus far has been amazing! One of the things that impresses me the most is that ECU is really committed, to being involved in your study experience as well as your personal well-being. They offer assistance in both, and I definitely feel they care about every individual student. Being a mature, international student, I've felt welcome from day one.

I love the vibrant art scene in Perth – there are a variety of events, lots are for free.
