Law in Business Major

Effective from 01-JAN-2017 : Code MABUUT

This major provides a foundation in a range of Law units with commercial relevance, and seeks to support and enhance the employability of business students in areas such as accounting, management and human resource management. Note: While many of the units within this major are units in the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, successful completion of this major does not, in itself provide a career pathway into the law profession. Course Exclusion: This major cannot be studied in the Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Business. Note: Students who successfully complete the Bachelor of Business with a Law in Business major may qualify for entry into the Bachelor of Laws and may also gain advanced standing on the LAW units completed.

Note: For students completing an Accounting Major in conjunction with the Law in Business Major, those students that are required to, or have completed LAW2300 Company Law and LAW2410 Income Tax Framework, may use those units to replace any second-year Core Option units in the Law in Business Major.

* Students will be assessed to see if they have achieved the ECU minimum standard of English language proficiency in this unit. Students who don't meet the minimum standard will be provided with appropriate English language support and development.
