Students will complete an internship with a host organisation that is relevant to their academic studies. They will undertake meaningful work that will enable them to apply Aviation-related disciplinary knowledge and skills. The opportunity will enable students to develop their professional capabilities and enhance their familiarity with working environments. Critical to their success, students will produce a portfolio that demonstrates their learning against the CLOs, integrating any prior learning from other units and connecting it to real-world experience. Students must complete a minimum of 360 hours of work with a host organisation. The students will secure their own internships to meet the CLO. Any opportunities secured by students will be vetted to ensure they provide a suitable learning experience. Terms of payment, if any, will be negotiated on an individual basis. The WIL component will focus on the individual's personal and professional development; no Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) will be considered for this unit. The WIL component will be supplemented with weekly seminars and a mentorship by one of the Aviation academics.
