Edith Cowan University occupational and environmental health and safety (OEHS) graduates will have multiple options when entering the workforce, with the course achieving vital new accreditation.
Environmental Health Australia is the country's premier environmental health professional organisation and recently awarded ECU's OEHS major with full accreditation for the next five years.
With the major already accredited by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health and the Australian OHS Education Accreditation Board, graduates will have dual qualifications enabling them to work as both an OHS Practitioner and an Environmental Health Officer.
EHA National President Philip Swain visited ECU's Joondalup campus to mark the occasion with ECU's OEHS team in person.
ECU Associate Dean of Public Health and OHS Amanda Devine said the achievement would benefit graduates and the broader community.
"This is a great outcome for the OEHS team and our students," she said.
"This accreditation from EHA will provide our students with more options when starting on their career journey, which will in turn help improve and enhance occupational and environmental health for Australians."
