Transitioning campuses in 2026

Main Content

With the opening of our world-class ECU City campus in semester one, 2026, and teaching at our Mount Lawley campus due to end later this year, a number of course and unit offerings across the university will soon be delivered from new locations.

Where will I study in 2026?

We've compiled a list of courses and majors that will be affected by these moves. The list will be refined in the lead-up to 2026, and we'll keep you updated along the way.

How to find your course or specialisation (major or minor)

Search by your course or specialisation (major or minor) code or name to find out which campus we anticipate it will be based at from 2026.

You may find some of your units are located across more than one campus.

Can’t find your course or specialisation (major or minor)?

If your course or major is not listed, it may mean that it will continue to be delivered from its existing location at Joondalup, South West, internationally or online.

Check this page regularly for updates, if you can’t find what you’ve looking for, you can connect with one or our advisers via Ask Us.

ECU City is located at Perth City Link, in the CBD. It is bound by Roe, Wellington and Queen streets and directly interfaces with Yagan Square.

The Perth Busport is seamlessly integrated into the campus itself, while the Perth Train Station and Perth Underground lines are a two-minute walk away.

ECU City will have extensive end-of-trip facilities, including showers and lockers, and a bike park with several recharging ports for those travelling via e-bike or scooter.

Our Joondalup and city campuses will be connected by a 21-minute train ride. Our South West campus will also be connected via the Australind Train from Perth Station.

For those that need to drive their car, Perth CBD has a range of paid parking options within the area, including nearby on Roe and Wellington Streets.

The School of Education will deliver all of their courses from the Joondalup campus with some specialist units provided at ECU City. In 2025, some spaces at Joondalup will undergo renovations ahead of the moves, including purpose-built teaching spaces for specialist classes.

Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet will also move to Joondalup campus.

All other schools currently based at the Joondalup campus will remain.

In time, facilities at the Joondalup and South West campuses will be upgraded to match the technology and offering at ECU City.

There are several external student accommodation providers near ECU City.

ECU is also aware of several additional private student accommodation high-rise buildings in the CBD close to ECU City, that have been proposed, received development approval, or are already under construction, signalling more accommodation options are on the way.

ECU's student accommodation at the Joondalup and South West campuses will also remain open.

Please visit our Accommodation Resources page for more information on finding accommodation.

Given the central location, safety at ECU City involves multiple agencies – WA Police, City of Perth, the Public Transport Authority (PTA), and ECU – working together. We have been collaborating with these groups to ensure a coordinated approach to the safety and security of the entire precinct.

Inside the campus, ECU will manage security measures. This will include technology like CCTV, onsite security personnel, and implementing other safety measures as needed.

While we’re still finalising the specifics, here’s what we can share so far:

  • Access control: As is the case at our current campuses, certain areas of ECU City will require swipe card access and will only be available to staff and/or students. Public spaces will be open from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday. Outside these hours, staff and students will still have access to the building using their swipe cards.
  • A collaborative effort: The combined expertise of our internal safety and security team and external agencies enables coverage of both the campus interior and its surroundings.
  • Continued level of safety and security: While the environment at ECU City will be different to our suburban campuses, the commitment to the security and safety of students, staff and visitors remains a top priority, as it is on all ECU campuses. There will be an on-campus security presence 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

As always, the safety of our entire ECU community is a priority, and we’re committed to creating a secure and welcoming environment at ECU City.

There will be a wide range of support services for students at ECU City including:

  • Student Hub
  • Learning Advisers
  • Careers and Employability Service
  • ECU Health Service
  • Psychological Counselling Support
  • The Living Room
  • Student Success
  • Access and Inclusion

As the centrepiece of the Perth City Deal, ECU City will help to deliver economic stimulus, create jobs and improve vibrancy, liveability and sustainability in Perth’s CBD.

As such, services and facilities that already exist close to the ECU City campus (e.g. childcare, gyms, restaurants, and convenience stores) will not be provided by ECU.

Instead, students, staff and visitors will be encouraged to visit and support local businesses.

Some of the existing services near ECU City are listed below.

Childcare services

You will find several childcare services within a few hundred metres of ECU City, including The Learning Sanctuary in Kings Square and Mirabilla Citiplace. Several providers also operate within the Perth CBD, including Nido Early School, Goodstart Perth , Wildflowers Early Learning and Buggles Brookfield Place.

Gyms

If you are looking for a gym close to ECU City, you may like to consider Surge Fitness at Kings Square or Anytime Fitness in the Murray Street Mall, with many other options in neighbouring Northbridge and throughout the CBD.

The Mount Lawley campus will be vacated and handed back to the WA State Government by the end of 2027.

DevelopmentWA is leading the redevelopment project for the State Government and began engaging with the community and stakeholders from late 2024 to capture feedback and ideas to shape the redevelopment Master Plan.

ECU staff and students have had the opportunity to contribute to DevelopmentWA’s planning through their community reference group, feedback workshops and other community consultation events.
