An exhibition featuring the best artwork from secondary students across WA will be on show during ECU Mount Lawley and WAAPA’s Open Day.
For the sixth consecutive year Edith Cowan University School of Arts and Humanities is partnering with the Western Australian Secondary School Executive Association (WASSEA) to host the Young Originals Exhibition 2016 at Spectrum Project Space, Edith Cowan University, Mount Lawley Campus. Young Originals is also supported by the Department of Education, Statewide Services.
President of WASSEA, Ms Janette Gee said:
“Young Originals gives secondary school students a unique and prestigious opportunity to display their art in a professional gallery space and as secondary school administrators, WASSEA members feel privileged to be involved in this celebration of emerging artists.”
This exhibition is an exciting event in the calendar of public schools and promotes excellence in the visual arts across a range of artistic mediums including; computer generated works, graphic design, printmaking, photography, painting, sculpture, video art and textiles.
Last year students from over 50 schools submitted more than 150 entries to Young Originals 2015 and 82 entries were selected for exhibition.

The Young Originals exhibition runs from Thursday, 11 August to Wednesday, 24 August 2016 (including ECU & WAAPA Open Day on Sunday, 14 August) at Spectrum Project Space, Mount Lawley Campus, Edith Cowan University.
Tuesday to Friday 10.00am - 5.00pm
Saturdays 12.00pm - 5.00pm
