Compliance

The ECU Compliance program is based on best practice set by the Australian Standard AS3806 -2006: Compliance Programs.

There are four key elements for an effective compliance program:

• Commitment - commitment by the Council and senior management to effective compliance that permeates throughout the whole University.
• Implementation - Compliance responsibilities are assigned, training needs addressed and controls implemented to manage compliance obligations.
• Monitoring and measuring - the Compliance program is documented, monitored, measured and reported.
• Continual improvement - the Compliance program is regularly reviewed and improvement made when appropriate.
