Elections of ECU Council

Strategic and Governance Services is responsible for conducting elections for a number of positions on Council. To find out more about a particular election, please consult the information below and click on the appropriate downloads for details.

ECU is committed to ensuring that its decision-making bodies include a diversity of perspectives and viewpoints. In striving to achieve gender diversity at leadership and management levels, suitably qualified people of all genders are encouraged to apply.

In accordance with the TEQSA Provider Threshold Standards, Council members must be able to meet the requirements outlined in the Fit and Proper Person Declaration.

Elections 2026

ENROLLED STUDENTS (two positions - one undergraduate and one postgraduate)

Term: 20 September 2026 to 19 September 2027
Nominations open: 27 July 2026
Nominations close: 11 August 2026
Should more than one valid nomination be received for either position, polling will be conducted from 17 August to 31 August 2026.

The nomination forms are available under ‘Forms and Applications’.

INFORMATION SESSION

An information session about Council and the elections for the Postgraduate and Undergraduate students will be held as follows:

Tuesday 4 August 2026 at 11am to 12pm at the Joondalup Campus in the Council Chambers Building 1, Room 447 (JO.1.447)
