Body Mind and Soul series - Former Staff

Body Mind and Soul series – Former Staff invitation
Tuesday, 28 May, 10.30am – 2.00pm
ECU Mount Lawley Campus

In keeping with our Alumni event series on the theme of Body, Mind and Soul you and a guest are invited to a Former Staff exclusive cultural experience showcasing the breadth of talent that our Mount Lawley students offer.

Expand your mind with a guided tour of Sculpture by the Sea: Background and Briefing. This is your chance for a behind the scenes look at the preparatory works for this iconic Perth exhibition. We then head to the Spectrum Gallery to view the exhibitions Tin Heads by Ellen Norish, and Threshold by Holly Yoshida. Lunch is provided before we take our seats to hear the Eneksis Vocal Ensemble. Feel your spirits rise as you are treated to the joyful sounds of the young voices in this elite student chamber choir at WAAPA.

This is an unique opportunity to hear from the Premiership coach Adam Simpson, West Coast Eagles Captain Shannon Hurn, and Associate Professor Sophia Nimphius, ECU Exercise and Sports Science as they explore the complexities of creating a winning mindset. Find out more and register now!


ECU’s Education Alumni PD Event – The well-being of students in the classroom

Wednesday, 5 June, 5pm – 7pm
Building 32, ECU Joondalup Campus

Exclusive to ECU's teaching alumni, we are delighted to invite you and a guest to attend a PD presentation focused on the well-being of students in the classroom.

Alumna, and kindergarten teacher at Carmel School, Debra Karro will look at the well-being of early childhood students. We will then be joined by special guest speaker and alumnus, John Burke who is the foundation principal charged with setting up the new Inner City College in Subiaco and will take us though how he is taking this into account for High School students when setting up the new College. Creating both opportunities and threats, our panel speakers are from the health, technology, mining and investment sectors and will share their insights about what it takes to thrive in an ever changing innovation landscape.

Music Under the Stars

Leadership Roundtable

Exclusive to ECU alumni, our Leadership Breakfast gives you access to the expertise of some of our most successful graduates. Each table carries a theme and is headed by an alumni business leader. Choose your table and get ready to ask questions.

Leading Insights Every year we bring an inspirational speaker to Perth to share their story with the ECU Alumni community.

Past speakers have included: Saroo Brierley, who inspired the remarkable film Lion, Author, artist, actor and comedian, Anh Doh, Australian cricketer and coach, Justin Langer, Champion aerial skier Alisa Camplin and Li Cunxin, the man behind the book and film Mao's Last Dancer.

Starlight Stories

Bring your picnic blanket for this family-friendly evening, and explore local Aboriginal culture. Enjoy interactive experiences as well as traditional and contemporary Aboriginal song and dance, including from our very own WAAPA Aboriginal Performance students.

Movie Nights

Every year we host exclusive screenings of some of the latest releases at local movie theatres.

A Night at the Pines

Alumni-exclusive outdoor movie screenings at the Pines Picture Garden, located on the ECU Joondalup Campus.
