Our Graduate Research School offers services and support to Research Master and Doctoral candidates, their supervisors and their faculties.
We aim to enhance the quality of the research experience and culture at ECU by providing face-to-face and online training, seminars, academic events and social activities. We also promote high quality in research training through clear policies, procedures, information and support processes.
We support higher degree researchers by providing training, resources, peer-to-peer support, networking opportunities and social events to honours, masters and doctoral candidates and their supervisors.
We promote high quality in research programs and outcomes through the development of sound policies and procedures and information. We also foster good practice in supervision through the provision of training and compliance procedures for supervisory staff.
Our key service areas include;
The ECU 2016 Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition challenges PhD, Masters and Professional Doctorate students to communicate their research to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes with the use of one PowerPoint slide.
'Famelab' is a science communication competition which aims to find, develop and mentor young science and engineering communicators, and get everyone ‘talking science’ in the media-intensive environment in which we live.
Research candidates nearing the end of their research degree join industry teams to work on real-world projects and gain valuable employment experience prior to graduation.
