Interested in pursuing a research degree at ECU and need guidance?

The information below provides a step-by-step overview on how to apply and will assist you in preparing your application.

Step 1: Find the right research degree for you and determine your eligibility

Research degrees, also called Higher Degrees by Research (HDR), are intended to build upon your existing qualifications and research experience. ECU offers a range of HDR courses at Masters and Doctorate level for both domestic and international candidates (i.e. students).

Explore our range of HDR courses to view the expectations, entry requirements, duration, fees and course structure and find the right fit for you, your situation and your research goals. Please take note of the academic and English language requirements for your desired course. Evidence that you meet English language requirements is essential and your application will not proceed without this.

Please note that entry into a HDR course is a competitive process and depends on the availability of appropriate supervision and alignment of the research with the University's priority areas. Meeting the course entry requirements does not guarantee that you will receive a course offer.
