Unlocking phonemic awareness: A pilot study of an intervention to improve an essential, foundational literacy skill among pre service teachers

This study examines the phonemic awareness skills of pre service teachers and implements an intervention program to build this essential skill. Without a deep understanding of the development of phonemic awareness, primary school teachers will be unable to help students with this important foundational skill.
