Parkinson Disease iPad App

Currently, degeneration in Parkinson Disease is measured by clinical observation. Sophisticated laboratory equipment can also be used to assess changes in gait, strength and coordination. The objective of this project is to provide a means of measuring and tracking the manual dexterity of a patient over a period of time.

The test is designed to run on an iPad, which has two primary benefits. First, a patient can do the test(s) at home at any time and second, the test results (both current and cumulative) can be made available to the specialist treating the patient. This assists a neurologist to assess any immediate impairment of nerve function and to possibly predict the rate of degeneration in the future.
