Edith Cowan believed that education is the key to growth, change and improvement. We are proud to continue her legacy by actively advancing the role of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Through targeted Outreach activities, the School of Science aims to inspire diverse communities, encourage future scientists to pursue studies within our School, showcase our innovative programs, strengthen our reputation, and earn trust as a leader in science.
At ECU we are guided by our values of integrity, respect, rational inquiry, personal excellence and courage.
The School of Science operates several engagement programs for school students, adult learners, and members of the community. Our activities have been developed to showcase STEM, skills and attributes needed to work in these fields, foster a passion for science, and highlight career opportunities across our Science & Mathematics and Computing & Security disciplines.
We have several current undergraduate and postgraduate students who act as subject matter experts and ambassadors to deliver these engagement activities, gaining valuable extra-curricular experience before they graduate.
“It was a great opportunity, thoroughly enjoyed the workshops and interaction with peers”
“Very enjoyable and the students were nice!”
