An experimental and numerical study of surface interactions in swirling jets
Swirl is applied in industrial settings ranging from flame stability to processes where enhanced mixing may be required. Impinging jets are a class of flows whereby the surface-fluid interactions can be used to affect the rates of heat transfer from a substrate. This PhD project investigates the interactions between swirling jets and heated surfaces. The project is also supported by the Endeavour Awards program.
