There is a significant emphasis worldwide to reduce dependability on using fossil-based fuels. In this regard, hydrogen is an important energy carrier since it facilitates harnessing and storing excess power, derived from renewable energy sources such as sun and the wind for later use. This PhD project investigates the solar hydrogen power system for remote applications analysing various pathways and alternatives so that power production is optimised. The project combines experimental as well as modelling based research. The project is also supported by the National Centre of Excellence in Desalination Australia – NCEDA.
