Nominations are now open for the 2017 Edith Cowan AthenaSWAN Advancement Scheme. This Scheme celebrates the gender diversity of ourstaff talent at ECU, supporting career progression in the spirit of Australia’sfirst Pilot of the Athena SWAN Charter, hosted by Science in Australia GenderEquity (SAGE), an initiative of the Australian Academy of Science inpartnership with the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering. ECU isproud to be part of the first tranche of the Pilot and are currently workingtowards a Bronze Level Institutional Award.
Below are the scheme categories:
To support those with parenting and caringroles, facing career disadvantage as a result of these responsibilities. Thesubsidy aims to fund travel and carer related expenses that facilitateprofessional development/ conference attendance.
To improve the gender balance of the STEMMstaff profile at ECU by boosting the career progression of academics afterbreaks due to carer and/ or parental roles through support in work-relatedscience projects and research.
To recognise champions of gender equality atECU and facilitate staff attendance at Australian based gender equality events.
