Strategic Plan 2026–2031: Connecting to make a difference

At ECU, connection is how we create impact.

Our Strategic Plan 2026–2031, Connecting to make a difference, sets a clear and confident direction for the future. It builds on our strengths as a university known for opportunity, inclusion and real-world impact, and outlines how we will go further by working together in new and more connected ways.

Grounded in our purpose to transform lives and enrich society, the Plan positions ECU as a university of connection, purpose and high impact, delivering for Western Australia and the world.

At its core are our strategic threads of equity, culture, collaboration and sustainability. These guide how we work, how we make decisions and how we create meaningful outcomes for our students, staff, partners and communities.

The Plan is shaped by seven bold strategic goals that will drive our focus on educational innovation, impactful research, strong partnerships and a thriving, inclusive University community.

This is our roadmap for the next chapter, and it will be brought to life through the collective efforts of our people.

Supporting Plans

A suite of whole-of-University supporting plans will support delivery of the Strategic Plan 2026–2031 and connect it to ECU's annual operating plans. These plans will be progressively developed throughout 2026 and will outline how we deliver on our priorities in a coordinated way. Progress will be reviewed annually, with adjustments made as needed.
