ECU is an e-preferred library, you do not need to attend the library building to access e-resources, simply use ECU Worldsearch to locate the resources you require. For more information on using ECU Worldsearch, see the how to guide for finding materials.
To borrow an item, take your selection and ECU ID to any Self Check machine located inside each of the ECU campus libraries. Once you have taken an item out, you can renew your items by logging onto My Library Account. When you are finished with your loan, you may return it to any of the ECU campus libraries. After hours return chutes are located near the library entrances.

** Alumni, Reciprocal and Community borrowers are unable to place holds themselves. For assistance, please see loans staff or contact Library Services.

Note: Library staff may recall items required for the High Use Collection. Recalled items must be returned by the revised due date or penalties will be applied.
Please check your ECU email account regularly to make sure that you receive important information regarding your library record such as overdue items, holds to pick up, items being recalled, and fines.
Items that are damaged, lost, or not returned are billed at a standard cost of $110 per item (plus a $10 processing charge), unless a book is deemed rare or valuable, in which case the replacement cost will be charged. Patrons cannot replace a lost book with one purchased themselves. If an item is lost and paid for, then subsequently found, the Library will not accept return of the item nor refund any payment.
ECU students and staff can join Curtin, Murdoch, Notre Dame and UWA libraries by registering online with the Western Australian Group of University Librarians (WAGUL) for reciprocal borrowing.
Please ensure you register before you go to their library and you take your ECU ID card with you.
Online registrations are processed Monday to Friday and may take up to 48 hours for your registration to be active. If you need immediate registration please register in person at the library you wish to borrow from. When using another university libraries please remember to follow the rules of that library.
