Room bookings

Study rooms

Group, silent and project rooms are available for students and staff at ECU’s City, Joondalup and South West campuses.

Always check Campus Library Opening Hours before booking to ensure the Library is open. At Joondalup Campus Library (Levels 1 & 2) and City Campus Library (Kaarlak, Levels 4 & 5), study rooms are bookable 24/7.

Booking and use conditions vary by campus. See the relevant section below for details.

Joondalup and South West Campus Libraries

To book a room, visit ECU Spatial Information System (ECUSIS) and log in using your ECU login.

(You can also find the ECUSIS link located in your student portal's 'easy logins' list.)

  • Select Room Bookings.
  • Select  JO Library (Joondalup) or BU Library (Bunbury) for room locations.
  • Select the room you would like to book.
  • Select the day and time you would like, click on the selected start time and drag down to cover the timeslot you would like to book. (2 hour booking per day only. If you'd like to book separate one-hour blocks in the same day bookings must be a minimum of one hour apart to accommodate other students. Bookings that don't abide by this are cancelled).
  • In the Meeting Title box type in your student number.
  • Click Make Booking.
  • Your room is now booked. You will be sent a booking receipt to your student email account. Note: If you do not receive a receipt, an error may have occurred and the room is not booked.
  • Log off from the booking system.

You can also view a video on how to book a study room.

  • Each student may book a maximum of two hours per day in a room.
  • This may be booked as one two-hour session (two consecutive hourly slots) or two separate one-hour sessions.
  • Bookings are scheduled in one-hour increments to ensure fair access for all students.
  • Each student may hold up to five active bookings at a time.
  • Please be prompt. If the room is not occupied within 15 minutes of the booking time, your booking will effectively be forfeited and other students will be permitted to use the room.
  • Occupants must be able to show the booking request email if requested to do so.
  • Our students come first - no bookings can be made on behalf of a third party/volunteer organisation outside of ECU. Please contact Library Services for more information.
  • If you experience difficulties with booking because of breaches to the rules listed above, please email ecusis@ecu.edu.au advising room number and the date.
