Opening hours

All campus libraries are currently operating on semester break hours. See below for opening hours at each campus.

  • Joondalup Campus Library (Levels 1 and 2) and City Campus Library (Kaarlak, Levels 4 and 5) continue to offer 24-hour swipe-card access to ECU staff and students when the library is closed.
  • A valid ECU ID card is required after hours. Security will request anyone without an ECU ID to leave.
  • Staff and students have access to online collections even when the Library is closed.

Joondalup

Semester Break Hours

  • Library Lower Level 1 and Level 2 open 24/7 (swipe card access)
  • Full access to Library Levels 1-3 during staffed hours:
    • Monday to Friday - 8:00am-5:00pm
    • Saturday and Sunday - Closed

City Campus

City Campus Library is now open.

Semester Break Hours

  • Kaarlak Levels 4 and 5 open 24/7 (swipe-card access)
  • Kaarlak staffed hours:
    • Monday to Friday - 8:00am-5:00pm
    • Saturday and Sunday - Closed

South West

Semester Break Hours

  • Full access to Level 1 during staffed hours:
    • Monday to Friday -  8:30am - 5:00pm
    • Saturday and Sunday - Closed

Additional access information

After-hours access:

  • ECU staff and students have 24/7 swipe-card access when the Library is closed.
    • Joondalup Campus Library (Lower Level 1 and Level 2): access to study spaces, computers, Wi-Fi,  student kitchen and a self-help touch screen.
    • City Campus Library (Kaarlak Levels 4 and 5): access to study spaces, the eLab and Wi-Fi.

Access information:

  • Access to South West Campus Libraries is available during staffed hours only.
  • Access to High Use Collections is available during staffed hours only.
  • Access to the Learning and Career Hub (Joondalup) is available 9:00am-5:00pm Monday to Friday only.

Semester hours:

Our staffed hours during semester, commencing 24 February 2025, are:

  • Monday to Friday - 8:00am-8:00pm (Joondalup)
  • Monday to Friday - 8:00am-8:00pm (City Campus)
  • Monday to Thursday - 8:30am-8:00pm; Friday - 8:30am-5:00pm (South West)
  • Saturday and Sunday - 10:00am-5:00pm (All campuses)
