Alumni Awards

Recognising our extraordinary alumni

Do you know a graduate of ECU doing extraordinary things - either in their career, in the community or through their personal achievements? If so, please consider nominating them for an ECU Alumni Award!

Through this program, we aim to showcase and celebrate the wonderful things that ECU graduates go on to do after their time at university.

Encompassing four categories, the awards are the opportunity for ECU to recognise members of the alumni community who are making an impact – locally, nationally or internationally. You can see our previous winners through the menu on the left.

Nominations for 2024 open on Monday 25 March 2024, and close on Monday 6 May 2024, with the nomination forms for each category below. If you have an ECU graduate in mind and would like to discuss this further prior to completing a nomination form, please contact Alumni Relations Manager, Amy Blundell.

Young Alumni Award

This award has been created to underline ECU’s youth as a University, and to recognise the extraordinary achievements of our new graduates in their first few years after university.

Nominees must be under the age of 35 at the time nominations close.

International Alumni Award

This award demonstrates how our graduates are truly global citizens, contributing to the culture, society and economy of the places in which they live or work, using the skills acquired at ECU.

The award highlights the reach of ECU internationally, building the reputation of our University through the success of our alumni. Nominees for this award must have been living and working outside Australia for at least the past five years or living in Australia but undertaking work which has had a significant global impact.

Community and Impact Award

The Community and Impact Award was created to recognise alumni who are achieving extraordinary impact in the field of equality, diversity and social responsibility, reflecting ECU’s commitment to widening participation, for example in fields related to low socioeconomic status (SES) communities, those with disabilities, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities, or gender equality.

Distinguished Alumni Award

This is an ECU graduate who has not only achieved extraordinary success in their industry, but also demonstrates global relevance and a commitment to equality/diversity.

Winners of this award may demonstrate key achievements from the above categories.
