ECU's response to COVID-19

Important information

Please note the below FAQs are subject to change following the WA Government’s announcement on the Perth and Peel region’s transition out of lockdown from 12:01am Sunday, 14 February.

ECU is continuing to closely monitor the evolving COVID-19 situation in accordance with the latest WA Government and health authority advice.

Both Ngoolark (Building 34) and Building 31 (including Bermuda Café) at ECU Joondalup Campus, as identified by the Department of Health, have been deep cleaned in accordance with our COVID-Safe Plan.

For student queries or support, visit Ask Us or contact the Student Hub.

The WA Government has advised that if you are unwell with COVID-19 symptoms or were at a potential exposure location, you need to get tested at a COVID clinic and self-quarantine until you receive a negative test result. If you develop symptoms, even if you've already tested negative, you must get tested again.

See the HealthyWA website for the latest WA Government health advice.

Students and staff members must notify the University if they have been tested for COVID-19, are required to self-isolate/quarantine or have a confirmed case of COVID-19. Students and staff members must also advise the University of their test results.

We all have a part to play in helping to stop the spread of COVID-19. To protect the health and safety of the ECU community, students and staff, please ensure you:

  • Maintain good personal hygiene, including frequent hand-washing.
  • Stay home if you are unwell. Students who have to miss a class because they are unwell should contact their Unit Coordinator to find out how they can catch up.
  • Maintain physical distance from others where possible.
  • Observe all campus signage and directions regarding COVID-19, including the SafeWA app.
