2026 ECU Sri Lanka Undergraduate Scholarship for A Level High Achievers

This scholarship is awarded to students who have achieved outstanding individual recognition at the national or international level within the last 5 years in the following categories: Talents: Winners, 1st runners-up, or 2nd runners-up in areas such as singing, dancing, or playing a musical instrument, Visharada or Nipun qualified; Academic Achievements: Recipients of Olympiad medals or other national-level academic awards; Community Service: Recipients of national recognition awards for exceptional contributions to community service; Public Speaking: National-level recognition in public speaking or related fields; National or international level sports achievements; Any similar qualification will be considered upon the approval of the General Manager, ECUSL.

At a glance

  • Applicants must be domestic students that receive an offer to commence study at ECU’s Campus in Colombo, Sri Lanka and select an ECU undergraduate degree.
  • Open to prospective students (not current students) who commence study in 2026 in either Semester One (February 2026), Semester Two (July 2026) or Summer Term (November 2026).
  • The financial assistance will be offered for the first three teaching periods of Year 1 (up to a maximum of 8units).

Eligibility guidelines

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • Be a domestic student (Sri Lankan citizen) studying at ECU’s campus in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
  • Not be in receipt of a government scholarship or industry sponsorship.
  • Have been issued an offer to commence study in Year 1 of the select undergraduate programs in 2026.
  • Achieved a national level award as mentioned under “Criteria for the National/International Achievers Scholarship” and;
  • Meet ECU’s academic and English language entry requirements for the select course and any other applicable admission requirements imposed by ECU’s statutes, by-laws, rules and policies and procedures.

Terms and conditions

The following ongoing conditions apply to this scholarship:

  • The scholarship recipient must continue to meet the eligibility guidelines and these terms and conditions at the time of applying and throughout their period of study to which this scholarship applies.
  • The scholarship recipient must be in continuous good standing academically (green status) and financially.
  • The scholarship cannot be used on repeated units.
  • Course transfers are not permitted without ECU’s permission (permission may be withheld by ECU in its absolute discretion).
  • The scholarship discount can only be used for tuition fees in the first three teaching periods of the Course, to a maximum of 8 units, and cannot be used for any other student expense. The discount will be applied on a unit‑by‑unit basis at the relevant census date.
  • A student who receives this scholarship will not be entitled to apply for credit for recognition of prior learning in relation to the Course.
  • The scholarship cannot be transferred to any other ECU location, ACBT or any other partner organisation, or to another university or education provider.
  • The scholarship recipient must pay their tuition fees within the stipulated payment deadlines; failure to do so may negate the scholarship and the tuition fee structure will revert to full‑fee payment.
  • The scholarship can be revoked if the recipient does not accept their Letter of Offer or enrol in their course by the date specified, or is found guilty of academic misconduct or any form of misconduct during their studies.
  • The commencement of the scholarship cannot be deferred.
  • The scholarship recipient may be ineligible for the scholarship if they are in receipt of a government scholarship, industry sponsorship, or another ECU scholarship or grant during the term of the scholarship. This is at the discretion of ECU.
  • The scholarship recipient must comply with any applicable requirements under ECU’s statutes, rules, by‑laws, policies, procedures or other similar instruments.
  • The recipient must notify ECU of any change of circumstances that may affect their ongoing eligibility to receive the scholarship.

All scholarships are awarded at ECU’s discretion. Assessment of sporting or civil awards or merits at a national level is at ECU’s absolute discretion. ECU reserves the right to revoke the scholarship at any stage if a student is found to have provided information that is misleading, does not meet the scholarship eligibility criteria (including ECU’s standard and specific admission requirements), or does not comply with the ongoing conditions of the scholarship.

ECU also reserves the right to decline to award scholarships if, in its opinion, there are no suitable applicants. The number of scholarships to be awarded shall be at ECU’s sole discretion. This scholarship may be withdrawn from offering by ECU at any time.

How to apply

If we approve your ECU course application, you’ll automatically be assessed for this scholarship by our Admissions Office. No separate scholarship application is required.
The Admissions Office will issue a separate letter relating to your scholarship, along with a Letter of Offer for your course, to confirm whether you’ve been successful.
