2026 ECU Stan Perron Charitable Foundation Top Up Scholarship

Edith Cowan University (ECU), in partnership with the Stan Perron Charitable Foundation, is offering top-up scholarships for 2026 to support impactful research in child health. These scholarships are designed to attract motivated and passionate Higher Degree by Research (HDR) candidates who want to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people in Western Australia.

At a glance

Valued at AUD $10,000 per annum (non-indexed) until completion for current HDR scholarship recipients (including any eligible extensions).

This scholarship supports currently enrolled and newly commenced ECU PhD candidates undertaking research projects that advance the health and wellbeing of children and young people aged 0 to 24 years. In alignment with the Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth (ARACY), we adopt The Nest framework to define health holistically.

Eligibility guidelines

To be eligible, you must:

  • Undertake research within Childhood Health, adopting The Nest framework to define health holistically. This includes physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions of wellbeing, recognising the interconnected factors that contribute to thriving across the life course.
  • Be enrolled into a PhD course at ECU.

Selection criteria

  • Open to individuals who are currently enrolled and newly commencing in an ECU PhD course.
  • Currently receiving a base stipend HDR scholarship in ECU.

How to apply

  • Obtain an endorsement from your supervisors via email confirming that your current research project is related to Childhood Health, in line with the eligibility criteria above.
  • You must have this confirmation email before submitting your application.
  • Submit your application via the ECU Online Scholarship Application Portal.
