Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Allied Health Scholarship

The purpose of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Allied Health Scholarship in the School of Medical and Health Sciences is to: 1. Encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders students to pursue a career in the allied health sciences. 2. Provide cost of living relief for students whilst studying. 3. Support students to achieve academic excellence in their chosen field.

The purpose of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Allied Health Scholarship in the School of Medical and Health Sciences is to:

  • Encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders students to pursue a career in the allied health sciences.
  • Provide cost of living relief for students whilst studying.
  • Support students to achieve academic excellence in their chosen field.

Eligibility Guidelines

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander;
  • be enrolled in an ECU Allied Health Course (undergraduate, honours or postgraduate coursework);
  • not be on red status

Selection criteria

The student will respond to 2 questions with a framework (rubric) to enable ranking of each applicant's response.

  1. Why have you chosen your degree and what will you do after graduation?
  2. How will you use this money and how will this scholarship support your academic and career goals through your study?

Terms and conditions

Must maintain green or amber status.
