Destination Australia Scholarships

Destination Australia – an Australian Government initiative have made available 12 scholarships for full time students commencing studies at ECU South West Campus in an eligible Bachelor or Postgraduate course in 2021. Students who previously studied in a course at the same level will not be eligible. Students who have previously completed Uni Prep or VET courses who are now enrolled in an Undergraduate course are eligible to apply. Students who previously completed an Undergraduate course who are now enrolled in a Postgraduate course are eligible to apply. The scholarships will provide students with the opportunity to explore a unique life outside metropolitan cities while undertaking a world-class tertiary education. There are 12 Scholarships available – 6 Scholarships for students studying an eligible Bachelor Degree valued at $45,000 over 3 years. ($7500 per semester) 6 Scholarships for students studying an eligible Masters or Doctoral degree valued at $15,000 over 1 year

Eligibility guidelines

To be eligible for this scholarship you must;

  • be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or International student;
  • have commenced or will be commencing an eligible Undergraduate or Postgraduate course at ECU South West Campus in 2021. (Students who previously studied in a course at the same level will not be eligible. Students who have previously completed Uni Prep or VET courses who are now enrolled in an Undergraduate course are eligible to apply.  Students who previously completed an Undergraduate course who are now enrolled in a Postgraduate course are eligible to apply;
  • be studying full time (60 credit points per Semester) at the ECU South West Campus;
  • be studying one of the following eligible degrees:

How to apply

Application is made via the ECU Online Scholarship Application Portal. Access to the portal is available between application opening and closing dates.

Applicants will be required to provide a personal statement of no more than 500 words addressing these questions:

Why have you chosen to study your selected degree? How would receiving a Destination Australia Scholarship to study at ECU South West Campus benefit you?

Successful applicants will be required to sign a Scholarship Acceptance which will detail further conditions.

Selection Process

Eligible applications will be assessed by a Selection Committee.
