Guillaume Dupaix International PhD Scholarship

The Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade is offering an exciting opportunity in support of high-achieving international PhD students. The 2027 Guillaume Dupaix International PhD Scholarship is available to candidates who wish to undertake a research visit to the University of Luxembourg for a short period of time. The program aims to strengthen international academic partnerships and foster knowledge exchange between institutions and countries.

Research Visit in Luxembourg University-wide opportunity for ECU PhD students

The 2027 Guillaume Dupaix International PhD Scholarship is an exciting opportunity to undertake a research visit at the University of Luxembourg in Europe for a period of up to three months.

Scholarship Details

  • Destination: Luxembourg
  • Host Institution: University of Luxembourg (UniLux)
  • Program Period: January - December 2027
  • Duration: Minimum 1 month, maximum 3 months
  • Scholarship Value: €1,150 per month (approximately AUD $1,835); An additional €1,500 for travel will be provided as well.
  • Application Period: Applications are accepted throughout the year

Eligibility Guidelines

Applicants must provide:

  • Confirmation of current enrolment in an ECU PhD program
  • A support letter from their ECU supervisor
  • A personal statement (maximum 200 words) explaining how they will benefit from the opportunity
  • Current Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Copy of the passport identification page

Please note: Students whose thesis is ready for submission are not eligible to apply

Finding a Host Supervisor

Applicants are encouraged to identify and contact a suitable academic supervisor at the University of Luxembourg whose research interests align with their own prior to submitting their application.

Nomination and Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed by ECU and nominated to the University of Luxembourg. Final selection decisions will be made by the University of Luxembourg, which will contact successful applicants directly.

Additional Information

Travel Support

Successful applicants will be responsible for arranging their own travel, visa, and accommodation. However, recipients will be eligible for a travel grant.

Health Insurance

Health insurance costs during the mobility period are not covered by the scholarship. Students must ensure they have appropriate health insurance coverage before departure.

ECU Corporate Travel Insurance cover is available for the duration of the research visit, and further information can be provided upon request.
