Kevin Button and Susie Lim Scholarship

The Kevin Button and Susie Lim Scholarship was established to support Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students in need during their studies at WAAPA. The scholarship is offered as a way of encouraging and supporting indigenous and disadvantaged students to continue with the demanding WAAPA courses. The scholarship is valued at $3000 per year for the duration of the course up to 3 years full time. VET students will have this applied as a fee credit.

Eligibility guidelines

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander;
  • be a WAAPA student enrolled full time on campus in an Undergraduate course (60cp) or full time in a VET course;
  • be able to provide evidence of financial hardship; and
  • have a course progression status of GREEN.

How to apply

Application is made via the ECU Online Scholarship Application Portal. Access to the portal is available between application opening and closing dates.

Applicants will be required to provide a personal statement of no more than 500 words addressing the below;

  • Outline circumstances either past or present, which have had an impact on your life and capacity to give time and attention to your studies and describe your financial circumstances and how you would personally benefit from receiving the scholarship.

Selection Process

Eligible applications will be assessed by a Selection Committee.
