Eligible students must maintain full-time enrolment (60 credit points per semester) and meet all terms and conditions. The bursary is paid in two instalments of $2,500 after the census date of each of the first two semesters.
Eligibility guidelines
To be eligible for this bursary you must:
- be a full-fee paying on-campus international student (not an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, or New Zealand Citizen);
- be commencing an undergraduate or masters by coursework program in School of Engineering, School of Science, or School of Medical and Health Sciences at ECU Joondalup in Semester 1, 2026;
- accept your offer and pay your first semester tuition fees, as per your Letter of Offer, by 19th December 2025 for Semester 1, 2026 commencements;
- be a new international student commencing on-campus study at ECU Joondalup in Semester 1, 2026 through direct entry, i.e. not through a pathway packaged program, not an existing ECU student (except ECU Alumni); and
- not receive a government scholarship or industry sponsorship for your studies.
Terms and Conditions
The recipient must continue to meet the eligibility guidelines and these terms and conditions at the time of applying and throughout 2026 (as applicable);
- The recipient must be enrolled to study in 60 credit points each Semester or study period in 2026 and remain enrolled in 60 credit points post census date.
- Open to prospective international students including ECU Alumni, who have completed their original degree and receive an offer to enrol in Semester 1, 2026 into a new degree (for example those progressing from Bachelors to Masters courses).
- Students are responsible for meeting travel requirements set by the Australian and Western Australian Government.
- ECU may, in its absolute discretion, cancel the bursary if the recipient does not enrol in their units of study or pay their tuition fees by the relevant date(s) published by ECU.
- The recipient may become ineligible for the bursary if they receive a government scholarship or industry sponsorship or another grant during or applicable to the 2026 teaching periods.
- The recipient must comply with ECU’s statutes, rules, by-laws, policies, procedures, or other similar instruments, and with all applicable visa requirements.
- The recipient agrees to promptly notify ECU of any change of circumstances that may affect their ongoing eligibility.
- The bursary includes $5,000 total value, paid into payment to student’s nominated Australian bank account as two instalments of $2,500 each, following the census date of the recipient’s first and second semester.
- The student will be required to reimburse the bursary if the student becomes ineligible/breach, or the bursary is cancelled in accordance with these terms.
- The bursary cannot be used for any other student expense. Bursary will be applied on full-time loading enrolment (60 Credit Points) at the relevant census date.
- The bursary cannot be transferred to another ECU campus or partner outside Western Australia, or to another university.
- The bursary can be revoked if the recipient does not accept their Letter of Offer or enrol in their course by the date specified.
- The recipient is ineligible if they have also received any other bursaries from ECU for their studies.
All bursaries are awarded at ECU’s absolute discretion. ECU reserves the right to revoke the bursary at any stage if a student is found to have provided information that is false or misleading, does not meet the bursary eligibility criteria (including ECU’s standard and specific admission requirements), or the recipient does not comply with the conditions of the bursary.
ECU reserves the right to decline to award bursaries if, in its opinion, there are no suitable applicants. The number of bursary to be awarded shall be at ECU’s sole discretion. This bursary may be withdrawn from offering by ECU at any time without notice.
How to apply
Application for the bursary is not required. Eligible recipients will be automatically identified after census date of Semester 1, 2026 based on the above listed eligibility and Terms & Conditions.
