The Mark Brown Memorial Scholarship in Education

The Mark Brown Memorial Scholarship in Education was established by Mark Brown’s family to honour his exceptional 45-year contribution to education in Western Australia. Beginning as a classroom teacher, including in regional communities, Mark went on to lead in teacher education, curriculum development and senior educational leadership. He was deeply committed to curriculum and learning, helping shape frameworks and resources used across the state. Mark also represented Western Australia on the ACECQA board, contributing to the National Quality Framework. This scholarship will provide a one-off scholarship payment of $5,000 to support future educators who share his commitment to student-centred teaching and aspire to make a positive impact in regional, rural and remote communities.
