Zonta Club of Peel Inc - Education Award

The Zonta Club of Peel, along with co-sponsor the City of Mandurah, offers an award of $2000 for female students engaged in a recognised course of study at a Western Australian university. The aim of this award is to assist a woman to complete her first degree.

The Zonta Club of Peel is a member of Zonta International a Service club which aims to make a better world for Women and Girls through education, health and advocacy. The club offers a scholarship of $2000 each year for a female resident of the Peel District to assist her to continue with her university studies.

Eligibility guidelines

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • have been a resident in the Peel Region for two or more years;
  • be studying your first undergraduate degree;
  • have successfully completed at least one year of your course of study on either a full time or part time basis;
  • be enrolled in the next year of your course of study;
  • not be in receipt of another scholarship or other monetary award for your current studies;
  • be able to demonstrate need of financial assistance; and
  • be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident of Australia.

Terms and Conditions

Applicants are required to:

  • Provide the names and contact details of at least two referees
  • Provide evidence of satisfactory completion of the previous year’s course of study. Your application must include PDF copies of previous year’s official grades or equivalent records from your university
  • Show evidence of enrolment in the next academic year. Please provide PDF copies of an official verification of your current enrolment with your application
  • Attend a personal interview in January - February (date TBA) and provide proof of identity if short-listed,
  • The successful applicant must be available to receive her award at the Zonta Club of Peel’s International Women’s Day event on or near 8th March
  • Be available later in the year to attend a Zonta meeting to update the Club on your academic progress.
