Overview

To make the works for the exhibition NEWSROOM, the three artists - Alison Alder, Marian Crawford and Richard Harding – mined and re-cycled their respective collections of analogue and digital news items into new creative artworks. While the news cycle presents us with a ceaseless barrage of information, an artwork stills or slows this relentless cycle, making a space for a different type of reading. This more reflective space makes room for knowing the news but not being overwhelmed by it. NEWSROOM presents the opportunity to consider the fruitful relationships and engagement that can be found in a creative and imaginative re-presentation of the news.
