The Centre for Precision Health welcomes Dr Christian Pflueger to the CPH Seminar Series. Dr Pflueger is the newly appointed Director of the WA Centre for Cell & Genome Engineering (CAGE), a researcher at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research and a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia.

After completing his PhD at the University of Utah (USA), Dr Pflueger moved to Perth to work with Professor Ryan Lister. Christian and his team develop epigenome editing technologies to understand how genes are controlled and uses them to explore new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. His research has appeared in Cell, Nature Biotechnology and Nucleic Acids Research, and his genome-engineering tools have reached more than 100 research groups across 26 countries through Addgene. He brings a passion for mentoring and a track record of building shared research services to his leadership of CAGE.

Outside the lab, Christian enjoys experimenting with sourdough cultures and brewing craft beer.
