Sharon coordinates the University Preparation (UniPrep) course for science and is an active member of the UniPrep teaching team. She previously lectured across various chemistry units in the School of Science, specialising in organic chemistry. Before joining ECU, she worked for 15 years as a medicinal research chemist at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), where her work led to multiple worldwide patents.

At ECU, Sharon is passionate about making STEM education accessible to all students, regardless of background. She champions hands-on, laboratory-based learning as a core part of scientific understanding and integrates real-world experiences into her teaching to inspire the next generation of scientists to pursue university degrees in science.
