The ECU–UoP Joint PhD Program is open to prospective PhD candidates across all disciplines, yet prioritisation will be given to research conducted in the fields of Defence, Cyber Security and Criminology. Through the current scholarship scheme, one PhD scholarship will be available each year from each host university for five years, starting in 2026. Candidates will be jointly supervised and have access to the research expertise, infrastructure, and support services of both ECU and UoP. ECU and UoP will each advertise scholarships throughout this program. Applicants should only apply to the scholarship at one institution.

*If course admission applications have been submitted prior to the scholarship closing date but not assessed or approved prior to scholarship ranking, applications will be considered but applicants will only be provided a conditional scholarship offer, if successful.
