Lesley Lillian Graham Award (Bachelor of Education - Secondary)

This award was established by the will of Miss Lesley Lillian Graham to reward outstanding secondary student teachers majoring in English. The donated funds are to be used to assist a student studying towards becoming an English Teacher. The Lesley Lillian Graham Award (Bachelor of Education - Secondary) is open to students enrolled in a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) with a curriculum study major in English Education. The scholarship is valued at up to $10,000 and paid as a one off payment.

Eligibility guidelines

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident;
  • be enrolled in the Y68 Bachelor of Education (Secondary) with a curriculum study major in English Education;
  • have and maintain an academic progression status of GREEN;
  • be studying full-time, 60 credit points each semester;
  • be in final year of study having completed a minimum of 360 credit points.

How to apply

Application is made via the ECU Online Scholarship Application Portal. Access to the portal is available between application opening and closing dates.

Applicants will be required to provide a personal statement of no more than 500 words outlining the reasons for choosing English Teaching as a career.

Selection Process

Eligible applications will be assessed by a Selection Committee.

  • Content of Personal Statement
  • Current Transcript
