Summary of thesis:

Uveal Melanoma (UM), a malignancy arising from the abnormal behaviour of uveal melanocyte, can spread to the liver in 95% of metastatic UM patients, of which 92% do not survive for more than two years. Although there are various modes of treatments available including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy for metastasis treatment, none of them have shown any positive outcome in prolonging  survival. Therefore, a comprehensive understanding of how the liver environment becomes a home for the metastasised tumour, and support their survival, is required to identify the molecules contributing to tumour growth in the liver.
