Summary of thesis:

Suboptimal health status, as a major public health issue, is a physical state between health and disease, which is a subclinical, reversible stage of disease. It is reported that suboptimal health status is associated with many chronic diseases, such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. However, the specific causality for suboptimal health status is unclear. My research will perform a Mendelian randomization study to explore the causal relationship between metabolic traits and suboptimal health status, which may contribute to the individual interventions and treatment decisions for metabolism-related diseases from the perspectives of precision medicine.
