Investigation of the Roles of CD147 N-glycosylation in Atherosclerosis via Mediating MAPK Pathway

Student name:

Supervisors:

  1. Professor Wei Wang
  2. Professor Chris Abbiss

Summary of thesis:

Extracellular matrix metalloproteinase inducer (CD147) and its glycosylated form engage significantly in the development of atherosclerosis (AS). However, the underlying mechanism remains unclear. This project will conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments to investigate the role of glycosylated CD147 in promoting the proliferation and migration of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) of AS.
