Summary of thesis:

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a complex and chronic metabolic disease, with its risk often correlated with the severity of chronic inflammation. The excessive or dysregulated formation of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) has been implicated in various inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. Additionally, glycosylation of immunoglobulin G (IgG), a key post-translational modification crucial for regulating IgG function and the humoral immune response, has been linked to T2DM. Despite this association, the underlying mechanism of IgG N-glycosylation in the pathological processes of T2DM remains insufficiently explored. Therefore, this project aims to investigate the potential role/regulatory pathways of IgG N-glycosylation in modulating NETs formation in T2DM.
