Public Art

Edith Cowan University has, since the mid-1990s, commissioned art to be shown in public places across each of our campuses, to help inspire, educate, engage, and provide a sense of place for staff, students and visitors on campus. Curators and other staff have worked closely with leading contemporary artists over decades to create works that offer surprising encounters throughout our university grounds. Public art works in publicly accessible spaces offer landmarks that indicate waypoints for staff, students and visitors as they undertake their journeys through our educational precincts, and over time offer a sense of familiarity and creative belonging that would not otherwise be present.
