Tailored Study Abroad Programs

At ECU, we teach and graduate global citizens who understand their role in the international community and encourage them to think creatively to global challenges. They achieve a high-level of cultural competency and they know how to apply it.

We work with partners who mirror this ambition to meet their internationalisation goals.

One of the ways we do this is through our Tailored Study Abroad programs, which welcome cohorts of international students to ECU to study English language and academic classes. This is supported through our award-winning Experiencing Australia Program (EAP): a social and cultural engagement component that creates an environment of inclusivity for visiting students.

The EAP is enabled by ECU student volunteers called Buddy Ambassadors. Together, students and Buddy Ambassadors attend activities on and off campus, exploring the ECU community and iconic Perth locations.

This creates important peer networks that often extend well beyond the Study Abroad course.

ECU has considerable experience developing these dynamic programs to match partner goals. Programs range from three weeks to one semester, with cohorts of 15 students to upwards of 100. For more information please read through our detailed Program Guide and flyers below:

  • ECU has supported more than 1,800 international students to complete a tailored program.
  • We can develop tailored programs for all ECU partners.
  • Over 1000 students have volunteered as Buddy Ambassadors in tailored programs, often for multiple semesters - students should submit expressions of interest to join the program here

Multi-Institutional Connect Program

Structured like the Tailored Study Abroad Program, ECU's Multi-Institutional Connect Program enables individual students from international universities around the globe to join an immersive and collaborative 13-week experience.

Designed with content to suit students students from a variety of study areas.

Applications for 2027 open for the below programs from 12 January 2027 - submit your expression of interest today to be prepared!

  • Multi-disciplinary undergraduate stream : 12 July - 8 October 2027
  • Business undergraduate steam :  July -  October 2027 To be confirmed!
  • Multi-disciplinary postgraduate research stream : 6 September - 3 December 2027
