Kurongkurl Katitjin, pronounced koor-ong-kurl cut-it-chin, Kurongkurl Katitjin is a Noongar phrase meaning “coming together to learn”.

Kurongkurl Katitjin is made up of a dynamic team of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal staff working to improve the life circumstances of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.
Kurongkurl Katitjin provides community engagement programs to inspire Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to seek higher education.
The Teaching and Learning team at Kurongkurl Katitjin is guided by Aboriginal worldviews that place Country, Community and culture at the heart of education.
Our Kurongkurl Katitjin research team lead and contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects across health, education and culture, grounded in Community knowledge and cultural authority.
Kurongkurl Katitjin, through cultural leadership, is committed to leading and facilitating cultural knowledge for ECU’s staff, students and university community, to enable a greater depth of understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culture and perspectives.
