Student Journey

The Student Journey team at Kurongkurl Katitjin plays a central role in attracting and supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students throughout their educational experience at Edith Cowan University. The team is committed to creating culturally safe environments where students feel valued, understood and empowered to succeed. By recognising the importance of lived experience, cultural identity and strong community connections, the Student Journey team helps ensure students feel supported at every stage of their university pathway.

Engagement

The Engagement team focuses on building strong pathways into higher education by connecting with schools, students and communities across Western Australia. Through initiatives such as the Bilang Bilang program, on-campus immersion days and community outreach activities, the team helps prospective students and their families gain a clearer understanding of university life. These programs provide opportunities to explore study options, learn about support services& and experience the campus environment in ways that feel welcoming and culturally meaningful.

Student Success

Once students begin their studies, the Student Success Team provides ongoing support to help them navigate university life. This includes access to Narla Karla study spaces, academic and cultural guidance, tutoring programs, scholarship advice and assistance with the transition into university. Regular wellbeing check-ins and relationship-based support ensure students always have someone to turn to, helping them build confidence, maintain connection to culture and community, and succeed throughout their studies.
