The Engagement team at Kurongkurl Katitjin work closely with schools, TAFEs and communities across Western Australia to inspire Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to pursue higher education. Through strong partnerships and culturally responsive programs, the team helps make the university pathway feel accessible, welcoming and achievable.

Bilang Bilang (pronounced bil-ung bil-ung) is Kurongkurl Katitjin’s flagship residential program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students. The Noongar phrase means “shimmering bright on the river,” reflecting the growth and confidence students develop through the program.
Participants experience university life at ECU through hands-on workshops with academics, cultural activities, and opportunities to build connections with peers and staff.
