Available to all ECU staff, salary packaging is an Australian Taxation Office (ATO) approved means of restructuring your income to optimise the value of your salary.

You can do this by receiving your salary as a combination of cash and approved fringe benefits that are paid out of your pre-tax salary, thus reducing your overall taxable income. It is flexible and individual to your changing needs.

Types of benefits include:

  • novated car lease;
  • ECU Sport and Fitness Centre membership;
  • voluntary superannuation contributions;
  • on-campus car parking fees;
  • self-education; and
  • home office equipment.

We provide competitive remuneration packages to help you get the most out of your employment. With generous employer-funded superannuation and salary packaging options, you can be assured you’ll be well rewarded working with us.

Our salaries and employment conditions are defined by our Enterprise Agreement and entitle you to optimise your pay through:

  • ongoing salary increments;
  • pre-tax salary packaging options; and
  • deferred salary schemes

Our employer-funded superannuation is held with industry super fund, UniSuper, and paid in addition to your salary entitling you to:

  • 17 per cent for employees on contracts of two years or more; or
  • 9.5 per cent for employees on fixed-term or casual contracts of less than one year.
